Aesop’s Fables: Volume IV

Volume IV of the Aesop’s Fables series contains eleven fables with associated exercises for young children. The fables are as follows:

– The Crab and His Mother
– The Rooster and the Pearl
– Mercury and the Woodsman
– Mercury and the Sculptor
– The Lioness
– Jupiter, Neptune, Minerva, and Momus
– The Ant and the Grasshopper
– The Farmer and the Nightingale
– The Milkmaid and Her Pail
– The Hares and the Frogs
– The Porcupine and the Snakes

Each story is accompanied by a list of vocabulary words to know, as well as a picture to color and a variety of activities to complete, including exercises that teach basic information on parts of speech, commas, contractions, alphabetizing, homonyms, spelling, characterization, writing an advertisement and an invitation, making a list, designing, evaluating, problem solving, imagining, directions, calendars, sounds and sensory perception, and wishes. Pages at the end of the book contain cumulative activities and delve into the significance of polite and correct listening and talking. This activity book will keep children engaged as it teaches them simple lessons about more than just academics!
