Each story is accompanied by a list of vocabulary words to know, as well as a picture to color and a variety of activities to complete, including exercises that teach basic information on parts of speech, commas, contractions, alphabetizing, homonyms, spelling, characterization, writing an advertisement and an invitation, making a list, designing, evaluating, problem solving, imagining, directions, calendars, sounds and sensory perception, and wishes. Pages at the end of the book contain cumulative activities and delve into the significance of polite and correct listening and talking.
