Omnibus is a Latin term meaning "all-encompassing."
Omnibus is the classical Christian educational answer to history, theology, and literature. Completing Omnibus VI will provide the student a full credit in Modern U.S. and British History II, Doctrine and Theology VI, and Modern U.S. and British Literature II. An additional feature is the inclusion of six essays in each year (18 total in Omnibus IV, V and VI) exposing students to various other disciplines to consider for courses of study in college and careers.
Combining these disciplines will have students grow in their appreciation of the unity of all knowledge, and all the material is taught through a biblical worldview.

From the Publisher:
Is it really possible to face the final stages of our earthly lives with confidence and without fear?
Mark Ashton describes his own experience of imminent death from inoperable cancer.
Real confidence, he explains, is found in the resurrection of Jesus Christ — an event which, even though it happened 2,000 years ago, has profound implications for us today.

No one dreamed that the Nazis would ever bother Valcos, the sleepy little Norwegian fishing village on the edge of the deep fjord. However, its happy, carefree life ended when Nazi officers quartered themselves in the Engeland home with the intention of securing Captain Engeland’s influential help. Petra Engeland, only fourteen, had good reason then to transfer her resourcefulness in mischief to grimmer tasks involving life or death, and her first undertaking was to warn her father, still away with the larger of the fishing boats, of the trap awaiting him.
Against a background of mountains, caves and fjords, Petra and her impetuous brother Martin—with numerous other Norwegians, young and old—take part in daring schemes right under the noses of the occupying forces.
Published before WW II was at an end, this tale retains its sense of immediacy and courage in the face of great adversity.

These stories, the author explains, are meant to show human and lovable people whose mysterious passion for God led them into preposterous escapades. With an eye on the taste of a child for concrete detail and no apologies for the embroidery of legend, each tale, in a style akin to fairy-tale, sets forth the unique qualities of a Genevieve, a Felix, a Dorothy, or Comgall-16 real saints brought unforgettably to our attention and admiration.
Illustrated by Tom Matt.
Other saint biographies include Once Upon a Time Saints and Around the Year Once Upon a Time Saints.

- Real yet tender—Army the dog encounters saddened civilians, enemy fire, life in the trenches, hand-to-hand combat, medical care, and soldiers’ camaraderie—all described from his innocent point of view.
- Encourages good character—Faithfulness is emphasized and illustrated through the soldiers’ sacrifices and the dog’s loyalty to the end.

Ostriches are amazing birds. To begin with, they are one of the few birds that cannot fly. Even their anatomy is unusual, since the ostrich has no wishbone. Dr. Zim explains the unique bone structure of the ostrich and many other striking facts about this large bird, which can weigh up to 350 pounds!
You'll learn about the ostriches' relatives—the extinct moas, the tiny kiwis of New Zealand, plus cassowaries, emus, rheas and more. Did you know that ostriches have two toes, rheas have three and kiwis four?
Dr. Herbert Zim was a naturalist, author and educator. He wrote or edited more than 100 books on science and nature study, which are prized for their accuracy and engaging material. Illustrated by Russell Francis Peterson.
