I absolutely LOVE this program. The stories are so lovely and a wonderful way to immerse your kiddos in a different culture. The Maps book is fantastic – my kids pour over it for hours and look forward to researching the foods, animals, geographical features and cultures that they see on the pages. The guide itself walks you through how to chat with your kids about the books and offers additional activities such as water color, recipes and more. It is the single one thing all my kids love most about homeschool and we get to do it together (My kiddos are age 6-11 at present). Learning and reading together has been my favorite part (besides trying out foods from different countries of course!). A simple and beautifully thought out curriculum that we will most likely repeat in a few years.

This is the most beautiful curriculum I have used in 8 years of homeschooling! I love the picture books and the many ways of expanding my kids’ view of cultures… the book itself is beautiful and gave me so much joy! (And my kids enjoyed it too!!)

One thing to know before buying is that the book is a guide, so you have flexibility and freedom to use it however you like. It doesn’t tell you exactly what to say or do, so it’s not “open & go” in a strict sense. But I found it specific enough that I was not stressed out trying to plan lessons.

After going through this with my three kids (grades 1 to 6) we used it in the grade 2/3 class at our co-op. The teachers simplified the lessons and it went really well! Even my daughter who had already been through everything once before loved it all over again in a larger group. .
